This is the story of RagnarLok, a young war-chief's son that wanted to prove himself to his father and his tribe.
A night before he turned 18, he had a strange dream like a vision. He was surrounded by small creatures representing his own demons. He knew that the time has come when the Trials needed to be completed.
As soon as he struck the first demon, a blue gem dropped. Once he touched it, he escaped from his nightmare.
He woke up sweating and gasping for air. Then he ran to his father to explain what happened.
His father told him that he is ready to begin the Trials. But before that, he needs to prepare for the journey. His father told him to speak with the Village Zerstorer Marcela.
She said that he needs to go to each merchant to purchase the necessary supplies, including some basic armor, a weapon and of course food for the journey.
Once he had everything...
... he spoke with the Village Elder to know more about the trials he needed to complete.
The elder meditated and then told the young war-chief that the Three Trials of Men must be completed and after that he can join the Grand Tournament, as champion of his tribe. The Trials were:
- The trial of Strength, where he must find a flying beast and slay it.
- The trial of Endurance, where he will need to survive the coldest mountains for the duration of the Winter.
- The trial of Wisdom, where he needed to find the Tablet of Vision and learn it's secrets.
With this knowledge he set forth onward to his destiny ...
For the First Trial, he faced a mighty dragon ...
And from his fangs he forged a new weapon, the weapon of a true war-chief.
Then he traveled to the snowy mountains, swam in cold rivers and stalked the dense forests.
in search for a great bear then he finally found it.
To make sure he had the advantage he set up a trap. He took with him from the village a chalice with honey and planted it. Once the beast smelled the sweet scent, he was too distracted to notice RagnarLok.
With one powerful hit, he slayed the beast.
From the beast's fur he crafted new clothes
He sat down and prepared for the coming winter
For the last Trial, in the spring, he traveled to the Cave of Trials.
There the Ancient Totem revealed the location of the Tablet of Wisdom.
When he found the tablet, a winged demon appeared and struck RagnarLok
With that blow he threw him in the dream world where he heard the voice of the tablet, filling him with knowledge.
He saw a great hand that was pointing to the dark skies ...
The stream of knowledge that is connecting us with the gods ..
He touched it and had visions of the future ...
His clan's banner representing Honor. The blood moon, a sign that the Gods favor great warriors and an Angel showing his path to the Great Heroes.
He now knew that he needed to enter in the Great Olympiad and more importantly, he was ready for it.
With the Trials Completed and went back to his Father and he received his blessing and he was declared Champion of this Tribe. A new set of armor was provided for him.
He traveled to the Great Coliseum to enter the Olympiad.
Will he have what it takes to become great Hero?
He can already image the stadium full of people cheering and chanting the name of the victor ... and slowly he begins to hear his name being shouted!
"Ragnar ... Ragnar ... RAGNAR!"
